I was looking at this car on eBay and noticed the add said it has rust on the rear rails and on the torsion bar cross member. Who in the hell would bid over 25k for a 318 car with rusty rails/unibody??? I know the prices for the 69's are out of the roof.... But this one takes the cake. There is some serious money and work involved when it comes to that unibody repair. It doesn't say but I think it may be an SE. It has the woodgrain dash and chrome around the pedals  :coolgleamA: Looks like the SE badge has been removed though if it really is one.

But anyway.... Am I crazy or is that a normal price for a rusty unibody 69 in driver condition?

Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

Challenger340

Nope,
You are not crazy, the stoopid price issue has been discussed on here more than a few times lately ?
Lots of disbelief ?

53 bids up to $25K plus, for a 1969 Charger with the SE pkg., including rusted out framerail and Torsion bar mount, 318 powered, with pictures from 2008 ?

Not enough people wearing their tin-foil hats I guess ? maybe something in the drinking water system ? who knows for sure..... but it must be contagious ? :shruggy:
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Maybe they're not reading the description.

It looks like a prime candidate for a quickie GL paintjob for reselling purposes.  I wonder if there are bidders thinking with that in mind.  The car APPEARS nice and there's a fresh tan interior already there.

The pics appear to be from 2008.  I wonder what may have changed.

Maybe we're overthinking it.  It could always just be shill bidding by friends of the seller.

Ghoste

It does say its a dang good car (even if he is keeping his Dixie horns).

keith88

The add says that the date stamp is wrong so they are probably recent photos, that being said i paid 25k for mine last year(with a 318) it needed work but was not told. Theses cars are bringing higher and higher prices. But this dose seem a bit high on the price.

If it can start, and drive the road it seems like its worth a minimum of $20K right there.  :shruggy: :brickwall:

Ghoste

Seems like that the asking rate anyway.  Ask Cooter how many people are actually willing to spend that much.

If it wasn't for the rust, it would be a nice driver. I love saddle tan interiors  :drool5:

That is one dull looking charger.

Looks like a new drive shaft, but why. :scratchchin:. Looks like a tripel tan S.E. I bought back in the day, just to get the N.O.S. front frnders when nobody was repoping them. Had a perfect interior, & got it running, sol it to a guy in town for 400.00 paid 600.00 for it. If I just would have had the room back then, oh well hind sight is always 20/20.

HANDM

Makes me wish that I had my fender tag, my car was a tan top, tan interior gold paint SE.  :eek2:
If I ever find the tag, the next owner will be stoked to restore it back to original.

Looks like an awesome candidate for a General Lee  :Twocents:

Dino

I like it.  It needs some restructuring but would be a great driver.  Lose the rims and the floor mats and enjoy!
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Seems like that the asking rate anyway.  Ask Cooter how many people are actually willing to spend that much.

Every one I met/played phone tag with, was the crotchetiest, whiney, over the top, beeyotch once they found out my cars flaws. Many are willing to attempt to get your hard work and money for peanuts these days. Seems $7500.00 is the buyers spending power for a true low mileage, 440 6, 4-spd, dana car, with 999 code paint.

I mighta shot myself in the foot, but the latest guy was calling from NC. I flat out told him the deal. I was fed up with idiots and car was no longer for sale. He sounded disappointed as he claimed he had the money. :shruggy:
