M122 Supercharger on Stock 440

Just brainstorming would a M122 supercharger off of the newer Ford Mustangs be enough to feed a stock low compression 440?

Not looking to build a high RPM drag motor but something fun for the street.

They can be had for $500 to $700 plus alot of fab work.

Another question can a person run a carb on the inlet side of the M122 supercharger since they are orginally setup for a dry air setup with fuel injection?

We have an M122 on a Lexus 4.0 quad cam motor(10.4:1 compression) and it runs hard. 500-700$? I think we picked ours up for like 200$. Fabbed up our own intake and added a Megasquirt computer to control the fuel. Obviously its easier when the fuel injection is already on the motor.

On a low compression 440 will it work? I believe so. We've already thrown the idea around for my 10:1 440 motor. But going carb at that point might be alot more work than just getting a fuel injection system. It might be cheaper but your gains wont be nearly as great.

I've thought about it myself...      Megasquirt with a M122...    seems completely doable with a older crap manifold - mill a mounting pattern plate and mill down the intake - weld together, mill injector bungs, mount universal fuel rails....    no problem.

The pulleys and what not wouldn't be that bad if you had even a small bench top lathe you can turn just about any pulley you would need....

If I wasn't heading overseas and I was back home I might just have to try this...  I have thought about it on a certain Gen III Hemi as well...
