Have you been following the Rosetta mission?

I just took a look through the Rosetta Mission pages (a European Space Agency mission to a comet) and all I can say it wow.  It looks like things have not gone perfectly, but the images are amazing and not what I expected.  If you are interested, take a look at:

Awesome achievement for everyone involved.  I'm an optimist that these type of pursuits will yield practical everyday benefits in years to come.

And bounced twice.  The first bounce apparently took it a kilometer from the surface (at least that is what I think the guy said).  I wonder how it got back to the surface.

they announced that they actually landed twice     tethers and thrust didn't work only the ice drills in the legs/feet  holding  it down

That is what I heard too, but it got more interesting when I was listening to the press conference yesterday and at about 15 minutes in one of the scientists said they revised their thinking on the landing and describes it as a big bounce and a much smaller bounce.  The press conference is pretty dry  information delivery.
