A lot of the good parts have already been picked over the last couple of years.   If it is anything like the recent Harry Lee Hyde and Ernie Derr auctions, anything with a racing connection will not go cheap.

Sadly, it goes to show why there really isn't any point in collecting things of sentimental value *to you*. Your heirs will sell it all off to the highest bidder once you're gone. I'm some cases it may be necessary to cover taxes but, I think, most of the time it's just seen as a windfall. In the grand scheme of things, I suppose that you really wouldn't care after you're dead as long as you have what makes you happy while you are alive.

As someone who has helped clean up homes of grandparents, uncles, and parents; plus being the personal representative for an in-laws estate; what I can confidently say is that in most cases completing someone's financial dealings is no windfall-rather it is a time consuming and also emotionally rewarding use of a lot of time. Depending on who else is involved it can be just a mess.

In this case many folks think this advertisement for the auction is cool stuff, and it is. Multiply it around the world by billions of people and there is just a lot of junk.

The rewarding part is finding out some back stories on friends and relatives.

Very few people have the inclination or means to save every trinket or treasure from a relatives past. Much less continue to care for every object. Especially when they have their kids lives and their own life to try to make better.

Someone's used bedroom dresser, unless you like the particular style, it is time to move on.

I did go over it, in 2011.    Over every nook and cranny...   In all the buildings and trailers.  
Found and bought amazing things!  

EVERYTHING had a price on it, except for a couple of things that Cotton said, "He'd like to hang onto for awhile..."

Cash was king at Cottons place!
