i knew these guage clusters were were maybe a hundred bucks or something without tach...but this one is a 305$ and it doesn't even have a tach!!! what is so special about this one? is it the a/c controls or something, because currently i know where i can get a guage cluster just like this one and a front bumper for 100 bucks...i'm really thinking about going and picking them up

Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

Is there a link to the guage you are talking about?

That price is too high, your $100  estimate too low. The unbroken/uncut 71-72  woodgrain overlay is worth $100 alone.  With that being said, I have noticed quite a few times in the past that some of this sellers  items bid way above and beyond their normal values. Many times i have seen that happen very early in the auctions which is especially strange as many people wait until the last minute to bid .  am/fm radios, other rallye clusters, and shabby tuff wheels were the items that i had noticed in the past.. I dont make accusations without evidence but i have wondered if there was something fishy going on. If you can get a front bumper and a cluster like that for $100..............buy em.

I agree with Tom. I think maybe people are after the bezel more then anything as most of the paint is still around the gauge holes, it has some of the switches yet, and the seller tested everything to see if they still work. Still way to high though. Hell, I got one with a clock I couldn't sell for $70.00. Although, the radio hole is cut up too. That guy is only 15 miles from me too.

Shill biddinfg. Get your buddy to use his eGouge account and bid some ridiculous amount. Ever notice that there may be two or three of the same item at any time and one is wayyyyy more than the others?

WM23N1

I think the cluster looks very nice and prolly worth 300 bucks unlike some of the stuff I see on ebay that looks like it was pulled out of a car that sat in a junkyard for 20 years with the windshield out exposing the gauges to the elements. Looks like "you get what you pay for" in this case.

$200 for this one, which includes the dash harness from a hideaway headlight car seemed like a good deal to me. ;D

This is a more realistic price for a plain Rallye dash. Maybe a little more even cause it still has the switches. But then again, the crome is worn off around the gauges.

How could you possibly determine that the price on that set  is more realistic? That auction has a reserve which is unknown. Having worn chrome isn`t an issue. 5 minutes and a  paint pen and that will be looking like new

what i see in that auction.......... is that  a lazy moron diked off the wiring harness.......... destroying a very  sellable part. not uncommon.

Lol, I did notice that. Thats what happens when I post tired :icon_smile_blackeye: I was trying to make the point that it was more realistically priced then the other one, least from what I seen.

I paid $150 for an almost mint conditions Rallye cluster with clock 150 miles speedo, switches and complete knobs... also heater control, but was 71, not 73/74 so Heater control is different. Also wiper switch is different, but knob is the same.

I'M VERY HAPPY WITH IT, and think the price was fair.

I think a fair price scale is $100-120 for plain rallye cluster, $150-180 for clock one and $200-250 for tach one.

all without missed or broken parts.
