Want some opinions on a motorcycle, but kinda Charger related.

OK, here I go.
My father in law recently gave me his motorcycle. It was parked for 10 years because he had a stroke and could no longer ride it. however he could not let it go so it sat there eating dust. Since the thing needs some work like a carb overhaul and some other little things its not worth all that much.

I cant seem to make up my mind wether I should keep it or fix her up and sell it. I like motorcycles but not as much as I do like old cars.If I fix it and sell it I might earn a grand or so to spend on my Charger, wich would be nice but nothing I really need.
On the other hand I could also keep it. however I have no permit to drive a bike and since I cant leave things alone I probably will end up customizing and repainting the bike in the end. So that and getting a drivers license will eat cash and spare time from wich the restoration of the Chager will suffer.

Been thinking about that for the last few days and seem to change my mind back and forth every day...

So let me know what you guys would decide. Maybe that can help me look clear at things.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Stegs

sounds to me you prefer your mopar or a motorcycle

I think that in itself answers your question

make sure you can sell the bike (without any family members getting upset) if you can, sell the bike and use the money towards your car or a new car!!!

if you not going at the motorcycle with a 100% excited attitude, it will only hurt you and your car

IMO, sell, take the money, buy another mopar!

I am kinda excited about the bike because I will probably never get another bike for free. On the other hand if keep it I will put the resto of the Charger on hold for another 6 to 8 months, wich will definatly be a burden to bear since I can be in the final paint stage in that time frame.

I wont upset anyone by selling the bike because I had it in my shop to clean it up so dad could sell it, but since it needed more work than he thought, he gave it to me since I spent 5 weeks 24/7 remodeling his house.

The bike is a early 90's BMW boxer. Dunno if they're common in the US...
Found a generic pic on the internet, but its exacly the same, even the same color  :eek2:

They dont take much to be a nice old school looking bike. I'm not a fan of Japanese plastic modern bikes. Its either something like this or a Harley. Dont care for anything else...

Why is it not an option to keep it, finish the Charger, and then move onto the bike?

Have been thinking about that option too.

Get it running so I can let it run once and a while and put it away for a couple of years...

Hell yeah!  Way cool bike!
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
