Cleaning glass on your Charger

Wasn't sure exactly which tech section to stick this so I'm asking where the most will see it.  What are your personal glass cleaning secrets?  I have none and it seems no matter how good it looks from whatever angle, as soon as I pull the Charger onto the street and the light hits it differently the windshield seems covered in streaks.

Ive had good luck using Windex and news paper. Also if you buff the glass dry afterwards with a micro fiber towel, that will help get rid of any remaining streaks...

A crumbled up newspaper does wonders.  When I don't have any handy I use one of the well known products and am left with streaks all over.  I hate cleaning glass.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Agree on http://www.invisibleglass.com/ and most importantly the newspaper, does not leave streaks like paper towels.  I learned that trick from a car detailer.

Ditto, Invisible glass is a great cleaner. I also use it on my bumpers, and spray it on a microfiber cloth, and wipe down trim, door handles, mirrors, etc.

I agree about the newspaper but your hands get pretty dirty so wear gloves  I am pretty partial to AUTOGLYM products as well as I won a detailing kit that has everything in except a clay bar. It came in its own bag and has to be worth a few hundered bucks at least.

Windows are my least favorite as I tend to suck at cleaning them.  What I have found to work the best for me is also the invisible glass that has been recommended already.  I also use the microfiber towels that have been recommended already.

I only have two additions to what has been stated.

1 - I always follow the invisible glass / microfiber towel with a dry microfiber towel.  (Basically 2 passes, first wipes the invisible glass off, second pass wipes excess and seems to clean the glass nicely)  This seems to help me allot!

2 - For the outside I will sometimes use Zaino Z-12 glass polish.  http://www.zainostore.com/product/Z-12.html   That stuff works really well with bugs and grime.  It also leaves a coating on the glass which acts allot like Rain-X.  Not that the Charger sees the rain but I use the same products on my daily drivers as well.  I happen to be a Zaino enthusiast though.  You can likely replace with your favorite products.   You can use this on the inside as well but be forewarned.  I once dropped a small amount on the inside of the rear deck.  It was a real pia to get that out!

So my steps...
1 - (if outside window)  Z-12 to clean
2 - Invisible glass sprayed
3 - microfiber wipe down
4 - microfiber (dry clean mf towel) follow up/

I use a quick detailer - Mothers or any other spray and a micro fiber cloth. For deep, old water spots I use some rubbing compound first.

Ghoste

Detailing spray and rubbing compound are two things I haven't tried.

Rapid Detailer works wonders hence I haven't waxed my car this year

:iagree:

Invisible Glass and new/clean microfiber towels are the best, IMHO anyway.

I haven't heard of Invisible Glass either to tell the truth.  Think I'll look for some on the way home tonight.

The key to the newspaper is always use a dry part of the paper.  Once it is wet, it is useless, so keep rotating it.  I usually go over my windows twice, just to make sure I get all the streaks.

Also use invisible glass.

The local Dollar General carries it here, it's in the section with all the automotive stuff.

I use the OO steel wool from the parts store sometimes to get the water spots off and then newspaper and windex. Works for me!!

Used a clay bar and polish on mine a couple of days ago.   Don't know if I'll regret the polish later, but, the results were awesome.

I read once that Mother's Chrome Polish also works well on glass.  I used it on my Challenger and it did a good job.  This was after using Windex and a clean micro-fibre or terry cloth towel.

Lord Warlock

I recently tried something different, i found this in a store recently and it works great.  ZAP Cloth with zeso fiber. you just soak the cloth with water wring it out then wipe the glass, no streaks, no glass cleaner needed.

I use invisible glass and a microfiber towel. But i use the pressurized can, not the squeeze trigger bottle. Walmart carrys both. 3-4 bucks a can i think.
