Very similar to my first car way back in 1985. Jj1 gold 383 auto on floor a/c pw. But mine had the tan interior.

Wasn't yours also non-vinyl top with black bumble bee?  That car was probably the ONLY JJ1 car I ever thought looked good, great even.

It was non vinyl top R/t clone at the end of my ownership(and still is today) but originally had a black top. 383 hp.

Which is similar to my 68 - JJ1 383 4bbl Auto on floor A/C PW non vinyl top and gold/white interior, numbers match drive train
however mine will not end up being gold

The moldings were the first thing to come off. Unfortunately, they were pop riveted on.   Although the 20+ year old paint job needs to go, it's a rust-free car & the interior & exterior trim have all been done over. Other than stripping the paint, the rest is a piece of cake. Right now, about 2/3 of the paint is stripped off. My plan it to have it be a nice driver.

Not worthy of a resto thread as it's just taking the trim & paint off, repainting it and putting the trim back on, but I'll hrow up a picture every now and then.   .

Every Charger is worth a thread!


And those moldings are probably why it is so straight:

1) they kept the door ding gnomes away

2) they kept the hot rodders and kids away

I'm sure he means the moldings around the glass, mirrors, antennae....stuff like that.  Not the side body bumpers.

Which oddly enough, were on my car too.  And it was a gold car.

The horizontal door edge guard just ruins the look of the Charger's lines.
