Dodge has a proud history when it comes to auto racing and at this year's SEMA show in Vegas they will be showing the latest Challenger based on that heritage.  It's the Challenger TA which harkens back to the 1970 Trans Am season in which Dodge supported two of the then new 1970 Challenger T/As to do battle with the Camaro's, Mustang's, Javelin's, and even another Mopar in the form of the AAR Cuda.  And, while the on-track performance was rather disappointing, the effort did produce a street version that is now highly collectable....the Challenger T/A (along with a sister offering from Plymouth in the form of the AAR Cuda).

The latest "T/A" Concept sports a functional AAR style hood that has blacked out functional hood pins.  (What about the original style T/A hood scoop...it's in the catalog?  Perhaps they could offer this hood on an AAR version of the Challenger...just a thought.)  The T/A concept also comes with "Air Catcher" inner headlight delete that also feeds fresh air to the engine.   In addition it includes all the styling clues offered by the original T/A in the form of T/A side decals and functional side exhaust.  The 6.4L 392 Hemi is provided with both rear and side exhaust that can be chosen through electronic cutouts.   The driver gets to decide how loud the exhaust will be..."turn down the radio so I can hear the exhaust", or "turn off the radio I can't hear it anyway".   And, speaking of the interior, it comes with Carbon fiber Viper seats mounted on racy looking aluminum tracks.  To round out the package the T/A Concept has 20x9.5 black forged aluminum wheels and Brembo brakes.
I sound like I just wrote copy for the Dodge Corporation....anyway; I hope they actually build it...

Interesting air intake system.  Looks like it gets air from both the air box (with Hellcat headlight air duct) as well as the Shaker :scratchchin:

Those seats sure look a lot lighter than the standard seats used in other models.
