How to remove shifter collar ring off steering column?

I am taking the steering column apart for paint and for the life of me cant see how the collar comes off the steering column? Anyone know? Thanks,

i coverted my colum shifter to console shifter and i need to know how to remove or make it look like a regular colum as well

Look down in through the shifter handle hole. There is a small allen screw there that needs to be loosened.
