Hey everyone, i have a lakewood bellhousing i got part of a package deal. I'm trying to gather info on a big block lakewood bellhousing. First is anyone here currently using one on a 69 b body with a 383. I would like to see pics of it installed, mainly the linkage aspect of it.
Also i know the factory bellhousing needed to be centered to the crankshaft with a dial indicator, is that true of the lakewood bellhousing?
Any and all input would be appreciated,  thank you.

Great question, Ill be running one as well behind my 440. I do know that my headers will not clear (TTI), will need minor notching.  Hopefully some people chime in here! Good luck!

Lakewood makes offset dowels for the purpose of centering the bellhousing with the crank. I put one behind a 70 roadrunner with a 383 in it a few years back. I also notched the housing to clear headers. There are different clutch fork pivots that will change the geometry of everything if incorrect. Make sure all your parts are matched for the correct application. If you have doubts about which parts are what, use Brewers websitefor reference. The 11" '69 flywheel/clutch will work insde the lakewood. Sorry, no pics.

I am running the 833 OD Lakewood bell behind a 1968 383 in a 72 Charger. I did have to dial in the center and use offset dowels to make it perfect like any bell. I am running Hooker Super Comps and had to clearance the passenger side of the bell about 1/4" to clear. Any grinding on the bell makes the SFI rating on the bell non-compliant (or so it is written), so be careful with header selection if you need this rating for competition (or grind and paint cleanly).
