Anyone have stock original 4 speed floor mat pics?

A few weeks ago I bought a set of floor mats off Ebay from Afterthoughts Auto selling for Lloyd's Mats in California. The mats look great but apparently they haven't sold too many sets for the 4 speed console cars because the drivers side front did not accomodate the hump attached to the side of the console. They told me their patterns are based off original factory or dealer mat patterns (obviously for automatic console and/or non console cars) and that no one has complained about the drivers side fit... until now. You can see the difference in the pics below in the pattern I made for Lloyd's. If any of you buy floor mats for your 4 speed B-body from Lloyd's in the future the drivers side mat will most likely be based on this pattern I'm going to send them. :icon_smile_big:

Anyway, Lloyd's and Afterthoughts are working with me to make a new drivers side mat, which is great, but I got to wondering if anyone here has an original D-side floor mat for a 4 speed console B-body they could measure and post pics of? Probably not but I have to ask. :shruggy: It would be nice to compare original measurements to the rendering I made with the paper pattern.

Weren't the originals a sort of generic vinyl mat that dealers just cut to fit?

bull

Good question. Lloyd's has what they claim is an original Mopar floor mat drawing, with a part number. They fit perfectly except the driver side, which is obviously for anything without a console 4 speed.

what are these are real?  didn't know 4 speed carpet mats exist...

bull

They're real, I touched them.  :icon_smile_big:

Lloyd's says they were a factory item with a part number but I ran that number through a few sites and got nothing. What they sent me fit perfectly, except for the right rear portion of the driver's side mat. They are supposed to make me a new one based on the pattern above.

Curtis, If you want I can take photos of what I have in my '68. They are not original (I think) but may suffice.

Maybe Lloyd's based the mats on some of those.  :shruggy: That one pictured looks like a one-piece mat that goes across the hump to the passenger side. No console.

Thanks for the offer but don't hassle with it. I'm confident these guys will make it right, and the other three are perfect.

Ghoste

I went through parts catalogs from 68 to 72 and I couldn't find it either.

gtx6970

I'm not aware of any custom / contoured fit floor mats ever avail thru Mopar.
Only the generic fit all body styles mats

bull

Here's my driver's side redo mat (new one on the right). It's a nice fit.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

They do look great Bull.  I still don't think a factory version was ever actually available but in this case, who cares?  They look good in there.

will they do them in loop carpet too?

There aren't any specifically advertised for Chargers on Ebay right now but I would say yes based on this auction and others I've seen: http://m.ebay.com/itm/331074887839?nav=SEARCH

Another auction I saw was for 63-67 Corvette classic loop.

I agree. Other than the Lloyds drawing there appears to be zero evidence that factory carpeted mats existed. But hey, they exist now. ;)
