The bronze car was originally restored by Roger Gibson for Otis Chandler. I remember it had super low miles but was customized early in its life. Tim bought it from Kevin Greene (the sack machine).

Isn't that Daytona the Omaha Orange car?

Was that the one with the crazy paint job & L88 hood scoop that was owned by Don Klump?

7 of somewhere around 100 built 1971 HEMI Chargers available at the same auction doesn't make sense to me (WAG ~10% of what's left).

Seems like flooding an already small market.    Unless they go at "no reserve", it looks like a big expense just moving the cars around?

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

If I recall correctly, didn't the Omaha Orange car came from a yard somewhere close to Alexander City?

Yes, it was found in Alabama.     I don't think it was too far from its current home.

Some very nice cars indeed!   :yesnod:

Does the orange Daytona have drum brakes in the front?

Highbanked Hauler

Any idea where the pictures are taken ? At first I thought it was an air strip but the surface appears to have some banking..

Hi Mike!  I'm holding my own at the moment.  Great to see you hanging around again, and to hear/read that your car's finished!  Awesome-looking ride you have there, BTW.

Thanks Geno - same to you re: your Daytona.  I'll admit I did not read all 90+ pages but skimmed and saw what I needed to see - looks amazing!   :2thumbs:

The blue T/A was owned by my good friend in the 80's. Has 30k miles on it and is completely unrestored. Unbelievable collection of cars. Oh and my buddy is trying to buy it back. I think he paid 3500 for it in 84 and sold it for 10k in 90-91.

Just a heads up.

Tim is not liquidating his collection.  He's out of room!  He is just selling off a handful of cars to allow new stuff to come through the museum.

I'm gonna miss some of those cars though.  Been helping Tim with some stuff recently.

The white 500 was sold new in the Belleville Ontario area. It was a 1 or 2 owner car when Glen Cole bought it and had it restored(in the 80s sense) at a shop here in Cobourg the painted several Glen's cars.
Glen had the collected a Hemi Charger of every year except 1970 and even had a few doubles. Mopar fans in Ontario will remember seeing Glen at pretty well every Mopar show in Southern Ontario with one or more of his Chargers. Glen was not afraid to use his cars and they all ran extremely well. Going for a ride with him was an eye opener even for fellow high performance car owners.
Glen started selling off his cars around 15 years ago and the 500 first went to western Ontario and the to England. I was at Tim's a few years ago when he was negotiating the purchase of several 71 Hemi cars and the white 500. I mentioned that I knew the white car pretty well and the shop that had restored it.
Another car I saw while at Tim's was the white 67 Hemi Charger that is also consigned to Mecum in January. This car was sold new in Picton Ontario and bounced around eastern Ontario for years before a fellow near Kingston restored it about 20 years ago.
If anyone has interest in these cars I could put you in touch with either previous owner.
