I've always thought about getting one of those....

They're fun .223's but the upper receiver isn't as strong and robust as
it looks nor are they very accurate. Nonetheless I regret selling my "pre-gun hysteria" mini-14.
Mine had the original flash suppressor. Those are no-no's now
in Commiefornia.

I think it's disrespectful and diminishes meaning the National Anthem. It's not some sort of novelty song to be interpreted through gimmicks.

Hmmm, I forgot about the issues of the upper and the accuracy.  Oh well, I can go back to 1911 or bolt-action rifle shopping instead...

Can you say "wound too tight"?

"wound too tight"

just saying, if it was some guy farting it or somebody singing it in a different language, errbody would be wound too tight over it. Conceptually, not any different than this guy.

I interpreted it to be tied more closely to the right to bear arms.  :shruggy:

There's also a right to fart and a right to free speech.

Just because some people get hard-ons from guns, doesn't mean it's any different.

I don't get a hard on from guns, nor am I a gun enthusiast. (They honestly don't thrill me, no offense gun enthusiasts.)
Just my interpretation.
Once they infringe on the right to fart, we're all doomed!

Be careful with the word errbody (sic), not errbody thinks like you do. You'd probably object to this performance too:

That was actually more better than the op version, John.  However, I prefer it to be played by a band, or sung by a choir than instead by some entertainer that kills it trying to make it their own. ::)

As a matter of fact, I do. Same principle. I mean, remember all the outrage and vitriol when that kid sang it at an NBA game wearing a Mexican charro costume? That was disrespectful? Why aren't those people as outraged by this? Again, because guns=hard on.

By no means do I think there should be a law against this or anything, but people simply ought to show more decorum as a matter of good manners. Just like how there are protocols for use/display/disposal of the Flag.

then again, its not too much of a stretch to think that the same people who enjoy these gimmicky renditions of the SSB also enjoy this...

How much of your hard drive is dedicated to these types of images?      :patriot:

Disrespect come from intent, not presentation. The national anthem shooter clearly spent a lot of time sorting that out and is performing it out of respect, not disrespect. That's way more relevant than opinion on whether it was good manners or not.

Are we supposed to get our panties in a wad when your kid learns it on a playschool xylophone? Gee-wizz..."Can't that kid have more respect?!"

If purity and presentation is so critically important to be respectful of the National Anthem, should we be incensed that 99% of the time it is not sung in the octave range as it was originally written ?

The song and the flag are "symbology", some are hung up on it...others aren't.

How many sang it in there heads as he was plinking it out? I did. Pretty cool. I am not offended by it. I think it is proper use of a plinker.

Ah yes the old "if it touches the ground you must burn it" flag  :icon_smile_big: (I'm kidding of course)

Would you be mad if you seen the American Flag being flown upside down?
