Need help with an Olds 455 for jet boat. Or anyone from south texas

I need my motor looked at and rebuilt up to long block, but need a shop near victoria texas. so Houston , San antonio, or austin. The guy I got the motor from said he thinks he spun a main bearing. I'm not sure if that's bad. But I need advice on what to do. I was gonna call thunderbolt motors, but they have bad reviews. So I'd thought I ask guys from the area. I've been looking online and try to find a car with a running motor. If I can for cheaper I might try that route. Anyone from those areas that know of a shop that could help me with that. And heads too. Thanks

You may also get some help from Talbott Enterprises in Waller, TX - northwest of Houston.  They use a local engine builder and may be able to give you some assistance.

thanks guys. i need all the help i can get. theres nothing in my home town anymore. we used to have a shop, they did my 4.0 for my cherokee, ten years ago and did a damn good job. its still running. but they have since closed their doors. not sure why. so now i must travel, and i dont mind if i can find a good one

My builders clarified that for engine re-builds they use Westside Performance (713) 465-7996.  You should speak with Jeff or Cleat.  Best, Darren
