Can anyone tell me if the exhaust manifolds from a 73 BB are the same as a 71?
Are they the same dimensions and just have different numbers???

RD

there were many different castings based upon 2 and 4bbl versions or HP vs non-HP cars throughout the 71-74 model years.

what casting numbers do you have and I will find the year of usage for you.

Well, I work in Shawnee, But live in St. Joseph.
The casting is 3751068, date 3-22-73.
Obviously, its a 73-74 HP manifold, but is it dimensionally exactly the same as a 71 HP exhaust manifold would be?
The reason I ask is, Im going to buy a TTI exhaust system for my 71 Bee, and I want it to bolt right up.
I dont want to have manifolds on there that are like a little off here or there. Ya Know? :icon_smile_big:

MOPARHOUND!

What did TTI say?   ???

I have the original HPs off the 71 Charger R/T's 440 on the shelf, but have never compared them side by side to 72, 73, or 74.

The 496 has the 3" TTI setup, but with 1-7/8" TTI headers.  Got a good deal from the guy at Olsen Dodge in Omaha, NE.

I live a few minutes from cudahob3.

*Speed costs money son, how fast do you want to go, and for how long?"
*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

RD

hey kcbee,
I have a friend that has a 68 charger in St. Joseph.  He works at the Altec plant.

The two exhaust manifolds will bolt up the same to your TTI exhaust.  The area where the exhaust dumps is the same location, 99.5% sure on that one.

Hey RD, is the 68 a blue color?
I have a friend here in town that has a beautiful 70 HEMI Charger 4spd. Beautiful car. Original, not a clone.
Well, also, I only have the drivers side manifold.
Anyone help with the pass. side?
And Olsen has good deals? I tried a link somewhere and it didn't work.
Do any of you KC guys know of a purple Barracuda(round taillights) on Leavenworth Rd. ?
Just saw it before. Any of you guys go to the crusies that Ive seen on the KS side???

RD

different guy.  my friend just moved there from manhattan kansas.  he has a white 68 that he is currently fixing up.  He also has a 71 charger that him and I used to drag race.

you should get your friend with the 70 hemi charger to get on board and post some pics of his ride.  Oh, which btw, where are your pics? hehe

A purple Barracuda sits outside, by a church west of 435 on Leavenworth road. Nice car.
This is awesome to know so many ppl. around this area into MOPARS.
Any tell me about Custom Cudas and Restorations in Butler? or is it Raymore?
Anyone know about them?
I need the bodywork done on my Charger. I can do mechanicals, assembly, dissassembly.

RD

thats right... forgot.

kc, go to www.chargerfever.com to see the all charger meet in El Dorado, KS.  A great place to go to, and the swap meet is 98% all charger related, so if you can't find it there.. well..

Haven't heard of Custom Cudas.

If you want a show type paint job ($$$), Ussery Auto Body on Leavenworth Road.  Has been into mopars for over 30 years.  Owner once had a 69 Hemi Charger he restored, the leftovers I have been fortunate to purchase a few pieces of (see pic, not all off his Hemi Charger).

Our car club president and his dad have their shop on Leavenworth Road also, just east of the dog track off of I-435.  Usually tinkering with someone's mopar that needed repair.

Maybe get you a pic of my 71 HP exhaust manifolds tonight to post for comparison.
