eventually we all come to the same conclusion.... you can't save them all.   :brickwall:

I have fantasies of winning hundreds of millions in the lottery and setting up a shop with about 20 guys working on cranking cars like this out back to stock, like a re-production line.  Resell them back on to the market, likely at a loss but big deal then.

I would also set up a sub-shop to build what Singer does with 911's but with second gens.

I think many of us have had the same dream of putting everyone of these back on the road. Too bad we are not Bill Gates.

FastbackJon, are you giving up already?

Depends on your idea of "giving up" I guess. My idea of giving up is parting it out and sending the car to the junkyard, which is what the prior owner intended to do. I'm definitely not doing that.

I bought the car with the intention of finding and adding some of my own spare parts to it and then finding a good owner for it because it deserves that, not restoring it myself. This is due to various things like a full garage, a baby on the way, etc.

The price is set at about what the parts value is to keep someone from just buying it to part it out. If I come across a guy who I could trust to take care of it and restore it right, I'd come down on the price considerably.

"This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold..." -- Numbers 7:84 KJV

That's cool Jon, I think I misunderstood your intent at the beginning of the thread.  I thought the ads that have been up were from the seller you bought it back from, but they were yours and that this was a restoration thread.  More of a preservation thread instead.  Glad you're looking for the right buyer this time!
