69-70 rear seats the same under the covers?

 I found a 69 Charger rear seat in very nice condition (Unlike my 70 Chargers rear seat.) and was wondering if I could just install a new 70 style upholstery over the top and be good to go. After watching videos of total rebuilds stripping down, cleaning/repainting, recovering padding and so on just to then recover I'd save money and time on a seat that would be rarely used. The 69 seat has been stored 35+ years and still really well preserved, no rust or rot anywhere.

To my knowledge the rears are the same under the vinyl.
