Has anyone used Rust Prevention Magic, from ECS, on their new front suspension pieces. I'm trying to decide if I should buy this or just paint them. I'm talking about new tie rod ends, etc. Sounds like it would be easy to touch up in a few years, while trying to paint them on the car would be difficult. If you have used it, how is it holding up? I want them to look natural, but don't want to look at rusty parts.

I have no personal experience with Rust Prevention Magic. But I would like to remind every one that steel will rust when exposed to the elements /oxygen. Iron oxide (rust) is iron and oxygen.
Some rust conversion products do convert rust into a stable substance and that stuff can seal the steel from further oxidizing/rusting.
The only way to keep steel from rusting is to keep oxygen off of it.  The products that do well are anything that will not absorb water and or will not crack.
A name like Rust Prevention Magic is not enough to interest me-- I need to know more about it's coating/sealing ability if any. :Twocents:

Check out Hemigeno's Daytona thread. That car was sort of the guinea pig for that product I believe.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

We just added smaller sizes (1oz. & 4oz.) to the product line for those who want to test the features and benefits themselves.  Below is an independent article written about RPM by the Eastwood Company.

How is this stuff on other metals like aluminum?

Thanks ECS, I didn't realize you were a member here. I was planning to order a vin plate transfer and thought I would also give the Rust Prevention Magic a try. Would the 4 oz. size be enough for the front suspension or would I be better off with the 8 oz? What's the price difference?

We have a different product called Magic Guard that is used for Aluminum and Magnesium metals.  You don't have to heat the metal surface and it keeps the alloys from oxidizing and turning a whitish color.  It wipes on and wipes off!  You can use it on things like Wheels and it will allow you to even rinse the brake dust off of the surface without having to scrub it.  We had a guy who used it on his Aluminum Truck Rims.  He treated them one time over a period of twelve months and his Wheels were still nice looking and protected.  Prior to using Magic Guard, he was having to polish the Aluminum at least once every couple of months.

The 4oz. is more than sufficient to do a complete front suspension.

RPM 8oz. size is $34.95

RPM 4oz. size is $19.95

RPM 1oz. size is $7.95

Below is a video that was done by a Mustang Enthusiast.  We had no idea he was going to make this clip but he really liked the benefits of using RPM on his (bare) metal components.

We developed the product over a year ago but are just completing the packing design.  It is very similar to a different product we have for the Gun Industry.  Below is a short video about AMMO.  Magic Guard is basically the same product but used for the Auto Industry on things like Wheels and other coated metals.  It does not require that the metal be treated prior to applying.  You wipe it on and wipe it off.
