Finally, after screwing around for 18 years they might actually make the 4th Indiana Jones movie. Harrison Ford will be eligible for full Social Security benefits by the time it's released.

I wonder who will play Indy?  Ford is way too old now.

I have the Indiana Jones trilogy 4 disk collecters DVD set, and look forward to this movie. ;D
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Man, I wanna see another Indy as much as anyone, but they should have left it alone with the 3 existing movies.  Kinda like the 3rd Terminator movie they just did (without James Cameron).  The whole process stinks of a cash-in that's 15 years late.

Harrison Ford seems to be in pretty good shape for his age, but it's still FOR HIS AGE.  There isn't enough Botox on the planet to make him look like he did in 1981.  Indiana Jones is a 35-40 year-old character who exists in the late 1930s, not a 65-year-old who exists in the 1950s & 60s.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I've wondered if maybe they should have recast a new "Indiana" like they do with James Bond.  (Indy was heavily influenced by James Bond.  Notice that the original James Bond was cast as Indy's father.)

Or maybe even change the setting to the 1920s, and just cast a new "Indy" that's not the same age as Harrison Ford was originally.  Pick a new "Indy" that's in his 20s.  That way the image of the new actor wouldn't be so conflicting in the audience's minds.

I like the idea.  One last film with Harrsion Ford (there is no other Indy).  As long as its set in a later date according to his age, it will be cool.  I also like the idea of the new Rocky movie with Stallone, coming back from retirement for one last fight.  Too cool.

The one that gets me is the rumor of the new Back to the Future movie.  That would suck.  The Delorean is trashed...  What are they gonna drive around in a flying train?  Lame. Especially since it said THE END after part 3.

No problem! Just take the train back in time and get the DeLorean, and on with tonight's Feature Presentation! My, my... how often these simple solutions elude us... :stirthepot:

I heard that the premise of the new movie is that Indy is getting old and he has young protege who sees most of the action.

Am I the only one who remembers the "Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" series on TV?

Mike DC

"Young Indy?"   Yeah, that was a short-lived TV series for while in about 1990 or 1991.

George Lucas never really expected it to be a big success, actually.  He wanted to experiment with a LOT of computer effects at the time, and decided to do a TV series for a while to work the effects into.  The show was a net money loser but it was a much smaller loss than just paying for all the FX research flat-out.

Pretty shrewd businssman, that Mr. Lucas.

I liked that show, it was one of the few things I looked forward to back when I had access to cable TV.

That would be the best, most logical & most believable way to go. Hopefully they actually do it that way.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

That would stil put the storyline in the '50s...

This movie will have Harrison Ford in it. I was luckey enough to be at an event ealier in the year where I was able to see George Lucas speak.  He is producing this movie and talked about it quite alot. George did not mention this, but rumor has it that Sean Connery will once again be in the film. . . . .

I wondering if there will be Nazi's in the movie..........even though the movies are fictional.....some of the weird stuff Nazis were trying to dig up or receach was really going on back then and i find it very interesting what those nut jobs were looking for, and trying to become..........i know this maybe a little off the wall, but during the end of the rain of Hitler, they really were trying to reinact some what of a king Aurthur and the nights of the round table NAZI master race style..........weirdos :o boy that place went off the deepend back then......know wonder its a good place to start a movie on a mysterious fictional premise.........

They've gotta cast Ford as Indy, theres no other way to do it...This is one of the few series of movies that was always good, (all 3) the other one that never jumped the shark was Back to the Future...Other than those two, it seems like the original/1st movie was always way better followed by sucky sequels...(IE: Ghostbusters, Superman, Batman, Star Trek, Star Wars etc etc.) :yesnod:
