My wife bought me an Autometer 5" tac w/shift light, as a surprise.  I have a question regarding the blue wire (see below marked with red arrow).
Do I need to hook this up?  I have no idea what it's for, as I have no switch hooked up to my shifter.

Looks like the two stage setting.  You can set low and high rpm lights so you need to hook it up if you want to use that feature.  Is it not mentioned in the instructions at all?

Yep. Found it.  It's for if you want two diff. shift points.  So, I guess I don't have to hook it up.
