There are some but I don't think they are cheap.  When you say the cluster is hacked up, what do you mean exactly?

Nacho-RT74

I still have to check it personally to know what he meant about hacked up. Maybe he doesn't know gauges are wired kinda diff than the regular ones.

will know later

Okay, keep us updated then because it could just be an easy fix.

A lot of the used ones I have found for sale are hacked up around the radio area from a previous owner mounting an AM/FM radio in place of the standard AM radio.

yes, the gauge doc... I made reference to him on OP

I have to check how is really the conditions of this one. I think the search will be more related on gauges and housing than the rest. EL ballast is missed too.

Wasn't aware about tach diff between 66 or 67 ( not even the minor look diff ? ), but I don't think that will be a problem. If cares, this one is 66

66 Charger had a seperate tach sending unit, 67 Chargers had the sending unit built into the tach itself.

I still can't tell the minor look differences on those pics LOL.

My friend is telling me he wants another cluster anyway. The back of cluster was drilled everywhere to install "exterior" bulbs to ligth up the cluster

Yes, they called one satellite dish and the other volcano.
One other difference is one says gasoline, the other fuel. I have only ever seen one and that was at Moparfest either last year or the year before.
That is part if the clear plastic that covers the gauge and they have just a slightly different finish.  Other than that, no not much difference.

Ghoste

Keep in mind also Nacho that in those photos, one has been shot just as a regular pic and the other was shot to portray the guage lit up while still showing the rest in normal light.  It gives the one a sort of chromed look to the overall instrument that isn't really there.  Other than that center ornamentation, the two would look the same and more like the second pic to the naked eye.

ChargerST

I would love to see how it would look if you put the 66/67 cluster in a second generation dash...

Nacho-RT74

ok surfing around we found one with silver center but fuel lettering.

66 or 67 ? LOL

one note... the car in Venezuela is 66, full console, silver buttons on center of gauges, but red medallion on grill, instead gold. as far I know 66s should be gold...

maybe late 66 production ?

now, what about if he get a built in tach sender unit cluster for his 66, and his car is external sender unit... I guess should work, just modifying the tach wiring... right ?

You just kicked over the fastback hornets nest.  My position is that they were all red.  Some agree, some disagree.

:iagree: They were all red as Ghoste says. I have told this story before but will tell it again.
Back when I first bought my 67 I had a fellow come up to me with NOS parts for a car he never restored. Zoom forward, I bought the parts and one of the pieces was a brand new, in the box, NOS center grille emblem which I promptly put on the car along with the new grille he had.
Fast forward again to 2014, it has been almost 10 years and the grille emblem which was red when it went on in 2005, is now almost completely gold. I am guessing another couple years and the red pigment will be completely gone.
I have actually had several people say to me at a show, "I thought only 66's had gold emblems in the front."
Red emblem fades to gold - end of story  :yesnod:.
