Aftermarket front disc - fit factory disc ??

My 68 charger has the factory front bendix 4 piston disc break setup . I need to replace the rotors , will any of the aftermarket rotors fit onto the factor spindle ?  Looking at rotors from MBM or MP breaks .

Or another question is since I already have disc break setup up. If I wanted to get an aftermarket setup for ease of part replacement , I would not need the master / booster setup offered in the kits as I already have it right?

I'm not aware of any modern rotor that interchanges.  As for the booster and mc I would say yes no worries although there is the potential for fine tuning required as far as the effect of mc bore size versus caliper pistons etc for pedal feel, stopping power and such.

Hmmm .  Looking at the MBM website . They sell spindles that are said to be " exact copy of originals " they. Appear to be the same set used in their kits .

I went out and looke at my spindle they look very close bit non exact . They are missing one hole , although on my car that hole is not used at all ????

The spindle for a bendix disc brake car is unique to that setup. As far as the rotors  nothing interchanges with them.

The 69 bendix brake car I finished this summer we used disc brakes off of a 1978-79 Volare ,,works like a charm

That video is great but if unless I miss understood I have nothing displayed in that video.  Being 68 with the bendix setup it's not a sliding or pin style .

So if I want to change I either get one of the kits from one of the many companies or I can go and buy the spindles , rotors, calipers, brackets for a 1971- 1976 mopar .  The only thing I don't need is the booster and master cylinder .

yes the parts are more readily available , for the single piston caliper .

not sure what the  supply is like now , but having OEM  four piston calipers rebuilt or sourcing replacements  along with  brake rotors was/ has always been  expensive ,

year one sell the correct rotors   , if the rest of the  braking system , (calipers ) are working 100% .
if not & your looking to replace ,  would consider the set up that the ramman talks about ,
which has been the default mopar disc brake swap for years !!
  http://www.moparaction.com/tech/archive/disc-parts_list.html .
I would personally try to stick to the OEM factory parts , you never know how long  ! all these aftermarket brake companies will be in business for  &  all the factory parts , have  been thoroughly tested & they work & have a huge aftermarket supply of seals ,  pistons , boots , rotors etc
wonder if all these companies that are offering their own calipers / brake parts  , have been tested  properly  :shruggy:
wilwood are a real  good caliper  & have been tried & tested the world over , but  they don't come with dust boots for the caliper  piston,  not  good ! for a car that is being used on the road / weather / dust / debris etc( ignore this , if they if the pistons come with dust boots now  ;D)
going off on a tangent , about aftermarket parts !  example look how the tubular upper control arms started snapping at the welds when they first came out  , because there was no straightening gusset  ,  all the stress was concentrated on the weld where it attaches to the ball joint carrier , the problem has been addressed  , at least every tubular upper control arm I have seen recently .

then there was the SSBC aluminium caliper braking in half a while back & their kit supplied with the wrong bore of master cylinder , few more I forget now  :scratchchin: .  i'm wondering if  a lot of this aftermarket suspension / braking / steering /, even wheels  , are tested properly in real word situations , & not just designed on a computer by a computer geek ,  then cnc ed / cast /  machined at the  factory  , then just boxed up & shipped out to the customer , with little or no testing  :shruggy:  think its the case of !    it was designed  by  billy-jo - jimbob on a computer , & looks pretty !  so it must be ok , you only have to look at some of the other repop trim parts etc that don't fit properly or look wrong . :P :yesnod: think i'm getting a little off track here , & got side tracked  :slap: don't mean any offence to any one , just my thinking on this  :coocoo: !    going to wait for my bus now  :shortbus:
only thing I would ad to any  oem disc set up , would be a hydroboost .

I agree with tan top, just get the rotors if everything else is in good shape, the amount these cars get used I can't imagine you needing another set , pricey but cheaper for just these than replacing everything
Not used as daily drivers !
