Good day everyone!  First let me say its a pleasure being on here and if all goes well I will be posting and contributing much more on here.

Now at the topic at hand.  I found a 1969 charger that will obviously need work but I have no idea if its a good deal. He was asking 3500, and I got him to 2500. He says there is a clean title, no motor, trans, interior,  etc.  I have yet to physically inspect the car due to distance so before I travel there I would like to know if its worth it and what specifically should I look for that I may be unaware of and at what point do you decide that its best to walk away Thank you :)

Any other details?  Just from those pics it looks like a big project but it isn't a lot of money so...  :shruggy:

No other detail,  at least not until I get there but by then I have to make a decision. I was hoping with all of experts here I would know if I should save myself a drive.

I will be doing EVERYTHING myself, but I never bought a classic in such rough shape before. And honestly I do not know how to tell if the rails are shot (more then likely they are) But if they are shot then I just don't know what to do.

hello & welcome     ,  IMO if the car is a fair distance away  , I would not travel of the strength of them photos ,  don't really show anything important , can you ask him for more  close up pictures ?
Feel free to post any relevant picture you think we all might like to see in the threads below!

Based on the lack of texts, I assume he isnt a real tech guy so I doubt I will be able to get any additional photos. I was considering just going there and let it be known that I will be getting photos only for review but I feel that would disrespect him as he thinks that when I show up that I will also be bringing a trailer.

That's about all you're going to get for $2500.

Count yourself lucky that there is a title for it.

At this entry level of $2500 for a '69 Charger, there usually is no title, and the car is broken in half.

Get it.

They ain't getting any cheaper.  :Twocents:

Seriously guys/gals yaw are making this load of stress more bearable. I no longer have any friends that are into this stuff. The world no longer care as much about MPH, but of MPG and I hardly see anyone care about these classic car with beautiful lines. My decision on the car will be better by the time I get there :)

You talk him down a grand, then back peddle ?

DLea

I talked him down a grand to the sheer fact that days earlier there was a better condition one yet cheaper for sale in the same general area.. he still didn't go down as cheap as the other guy.  But now it makes no difference because the situation is now worst :(

Since joining this website I've now been able to search the forums and actually studied up :) for the most part from what I learned that with these cars its best to get one that isn't rusted to hell and back.

ACUDANUT

Save your money and buy one that is mostly complete.

DLea

Besides I was able to talk him down without looking at the car or get any information. Not to mention its been up for sale for over two weeks and this guy sells a lot of molars at 20000 prices,  so obviously he knows the car is less.
