Hudson Hornet !

I have a nice block for my Charger ( 400) and it is great except for the top mounting holes for the water pump. For lack of a better word they are cast iron " Ears" and are broke right off the block leaving half of a hole on each side.

I do not have the parts that are broke off and certainly don't want to scrap the block.  Does anyone know of some alternatives for a fix?
You've never heard of a Hudson hornet ? !

Hard Charger

think you can build it up with a arc or mig welder and drill a new hole for the pump to attach to.

water pump bolt does not need 80pds of torque.

Weld repairs on cast iron are very doable but are not as easy as just striking an arc with a welder.
Search the process and practice on something first. :2thumbs:
I have an old 426 hemi block that had a "window" welded up with a mild steel plate.  It went many thousands of miles and the repair is still as sound as when made.

It can be done. Cast anything sucks to weld on, though. There is a small amount of captive sand grains that blow your arc all over the place.
