For a production car carrying a factory warranty, weighing 4k pounds, 671 plus horsepower, 11 sec et's, and for less than 70k.

That in itself is amazing!!!

They must be big enough. ;). Seem to hold up fine to abuse in the real world.

The don't, which was my point. Show me back to back, repeatable performance.  :popcrn:

You sem to know something that the rest of us commoners don't know; instead of asking us to prove that itis a great performer (which you know that we can't), how about YOU proving that it runs like shit?    ::)

By chance, are you one of these guys who believes that the moon landing was faked?

Nope, the moon landing was real, and the intercoolers on this car are small and inefficient. Again, heat soak will keep the car from running repeatable numbers.

That said, I'd probably buy a Hellcat Charger, then address the shortfalls.  :Twocents:

So its just conjecture on your part at this point.

XS29L9Bxxxxxx, I am Pretty sure the the development team that designed the Hellcat engine knows a lot more than you.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Two things... Why be personal? And why be assumptive?  ::)

Their is plenty of info out their to address the short falls now. And it has been done already.
Good grief this car does many things--- a lot of them rather well and is only 60K. :shruggy:

how do you know he is NOT part of the R and D team?  He is showing insight that will be an upgrade in the 2016 hellcats with larger coolers to address a problem they knew about now....kinda like Apple products.

Ghoste

I would hope anyone on the R&D team would be a little more enthusiastic about what they've accomplished here than to refer to it as "lame".

I will admit that I am not privy to the size of the intercoolers between the two vehicles and to be honest, I don't know what is considered to be adequate size. However, I would tend to trust the factory engineers knowing that if the car won't perform, that it will be savaged by those who test drive the car.

Once again, you seem to know something that the rest of us don't; to back up your claim(s), why not share the information that you have instead of just being a naysayer?

My two cents for comparison,

I had a 2008 Saleen Mustang s281 supercharged.  From Saleen they came with an subpar intercooler but for the overall package it met all demands for performance/cooling etc.  You could also buy an aftermarket intercooler from Saleen or another vendor that was much larger and had electric fans.  Which I eventually did and added a gallon overflow tank for even more cooling ability. Overall, enhanced performance with better cooling and limiting the engine from getting heat soaked.

I am sure these parts will be readily available for the Hellcat soon.  Than the owners can upgrade whatever they want.  However, be careful on what you upgrade(pulleys), tunes etc., it will void the warranty.  Changing an intercooler will not void the warranty.  However, they will know if you did any of the other mods.  Saleen owners used to put the old pulleys back on and change back to the original tune and take it in for warranty work. When the dealer hooked up the OBD port for a warranty issue they said, "Sorry but you have voided the warranty the car has been altered."  The manufacture has special access to your computer, whether you wipe it clean or not.

For me, I did not care about the manufacture warranty.  I bought the car to race.  I got 602 RWHP on the dyno out of that 281 small block.  It was wicked fast.

I cannot even imagine what you could get out of the Hellcat with future performance upgrades!!!!!

They stated in one article that they had one to 1200 HP and it did not come apart, and I can believe it with the specs on the bottom end.
