AMD and Goodmark questions?

Hi, some may recall my post about buying this 69 charger basket case that had the coronet parts car. I have decided to restore it since I found a 68 satellite I can get a lot of good parts off of to save on the cost. I have started ordering parts through a company called Keystone, some of you Canadian guys may be familiar with them. In talking to them the sales guy told me they are mostly goodmark parts which was the case for my 73 floors, but today I recieved the rear rails for the 69 and one says amd on a sticker on the bubble wrap it's in. The other rail is not a wrapped and only has the keystone part # on it. Basically I want to know if I can distinguish between te two, the look very similar on thickness and most everything else. Thanks again!

This won't help you, but I thought I'd share. I ordered two pillar posts for my 69 at different times through rock auto (shipping to Canada was cheap too!). One was Sherman, and I think the other was Goodmark. They ended up both coming form Keystone, and I'm almost 100% sure they came from the same factory in China based on the other stickers that were on them. I remember another member telling me that unless it's an outside panel (i.e. fender, quarter, etc) where you want the creases and bends to be as close as possible to originals, it's often not worth it to pay more for AMD stuff.

However, if you deal with a Canadian rep like National Moparts who only carry AMD, you can often get the AMD parts for almost the same price as the "cheaper" parts because they buy in bulk from AMD and the shipping for you will be from Canada, so the duty/logistics of crossing the boarder is already paid for. They also have donor cars and parts if you want used stuff. I've been to their lot, it's huge.

Good luck!

I see what your saying I think I will call them and just ask if when I get to the body panel part of my resto if they can check if the part coming is amd or goodmark because I'd like to use and for outer metal. I don't really care about the structural stuff as long as it fits together. I have rear spring perches and crossmember and inner rockers ordered too. Exciting to get new metal! Now I just gotta get the 73 outta my garage and I'm set! Thanks for the reply!

I know back in the day when I worked for Canadian Tire and we ordered through Keystone the parts were from the Sherman catalogue.

Oh trust me I know I'm whacked outta my tree to fix mine but it's happening lol, I'll be the next mopar4don or gers1968rt. Torsion crossmember forward is being donated by a 68 satellite, plus hopefully the front leaf spring perches and inner wheel tubs. I already have the new floors firewall to tail lights and rear rails, and like I said I have inner rockers, rear perches and crossmembers ordered.
