Well I can see some of the reason for the confusion; they're all relatively the same size of car, so to the non-car person they get lumped together as the same class of vehicle...

  could be a similar argument  ,the miss informed calling  a camero / firebird  / mustang  challenger / barracuda  muscle cars   :shruggy:   they are pony cars ,  never heard them called that these days , well that's ive heard  ,  even heard seen ( damn internet :P )  mid 70s & later ,   GM - F bodies are called muscle cars  , :shruggy:  :shruggy:

well, Pony cars being called muscle cars, is maybe just about the power they can put off on asphalt and just associated 'cause that. But body size is way noticeable different. "Experts" in fact makes that wrong comparision too

if we will be strict to the muscle car therm, Just R/Ts and GTXs are actually muscle cars on B bodies... maybe also Bees/Runners? but not the rest.
