I wouldn't want to spend all day in one. Once the cage and other equipment is installed I would say there isn't much room. I bet it's nice and cramped. The Crown Vic may be ugly but it's roomy.

With that cow bar already up front, you could paint it orange and stick some 01 decals on it...

Does Dodge have a "police Interceptor" package for the new "Charger" or is this just a regular "Charger"?

The appeal of the Ford Crown Vic's are that they come in a Police Interceptor package - re-enforced suspension for high speed persuits, heavy duty cooling systems for both engine and transmission, bullet proof steel plate in the drivers side seat, etc., etc.

I bought a police interceptor at a municipality auction last fall and so far I am thoroughly impressed - the best is book that comes with the drivers manual which explains all the extras Ford put on the vehicle (that you can't buy on the civilian market).

I was wondering if Dodge does this as well (or has anyone heard of the '06 "Charger" being rigged for police work at the factory)?
With Dodge unveiling the "Charger" at the NY auto show by having one in a police car get-up, I always assumed their decision to go with four doors was so they could try to take some of the publice municipality market from Ford - after all you can't push any perps to the back seat in a two-door without facing some law suits over the pushing and shoving.

In doing so, they alienated their muscle car base. I don't think enough Police units will switch from the Ford Crown Vic's to justify the middle finger that Dodge gave to the muscle car fans though.
