Called yesterday to get a quote on the 3 lower pads on my 69 dash to get refurbished.
$750 in black.

Thoughts?

Without seeing the condition of the parts it's really difficult to say.

I will add that I sent my dash pad, pads and glove box door as well as all the plastic pieces for my interior to a local guy (Toronto, ON) and he charged me around $500.00 to dye all the pieces.

My lower dash pads were originally green then had a half-assed black dye job by the time I obtained the car.  The plastic panels were the same.

Should have done the before and after photos but......

Was the $750 for a complete demo and recover or just redye?  I thought I read somewhere that Just Dashes does not return your piece with the correct stitching lines :shruggy:

Demo and recover job in black, I think they are all black but they can dye them for $100 per piece.

After finding suitable used pieces, I dyed them myself with the SEM spray can system, (vinyl prep and paint). Mine were originally green and now look like they have always been black. Cost much less than $750, but the key is finding the good used ones.

Exactly, my glove box is in ok condition but the others are in pretty rough shape. I would dye them myself but on one the actual metal is bent and the pad is pulling through.

I have yet to hear a true positive review on Just Dashes; they are expensive and do not restore the pads to original specs.  Personally I'd find decent used parts and get the SEM system.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I've also heard that the products don't come back as originals (i.e.: stitching) and I recall my quote from years ago that was quite pricey.

is amazing how couple of years ago, JusDashes seemed to be THE option ( although the price was allways discussed ), and now what I'm reading is just right the opposite :shruggy:

And once upon a time Sherman and Goodmark were the places to buy sheet metal. Mainly because they were the only place that even made any - it the quality was garbage. Now that these cars have skyrocketed in value people expect better results. I still don't know of any place that does accurate work on dash pads (although the uppers are being reproduced).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Ghoste

Maybe another big price hike wouldn't be all bad?  If it raises the bar on some of this stuff.
