I have pulled the engine and , trying to drop the k frame/ suspension in my car.  I got stuck tonight pulling out the steering gear box.  How do I get the shaft out? I have everything disconnect / unbolted to the gear box it self the only thing keeping it in there is the steering shaft.  Do I need to to pull it up threw the interior ?

Automatic 68 Charger R/T  Power steering.

Thanks !

Not sure by your post exactly what your dealing with. Be very careful working around collapsible shaft. Would separating steering coupler by removing crimped on retainer allow you to remove box from  shaft?

Make sure you knock out the roll pin in the coupler out, then pull up through the interior.
