Is this bracket original?

This is on my '68 where the left frame rail begins to bend upward to go over the axle housing, attached with two bolts. I recently put it to work holding up my muffler but it's been there since I got the car.

Does anyone know what purpose it originally served and/ or if it is OEM?

that's not a factory bracket , that ive ever seen  .  your charger must of originally had a single exhaust  from the factory , because I can't see the OEM left side muffler hanger bracket , the left side was a bolt in deal at the factory .

have a read & look  here  :2thumbs:

I have never seen that bracket on a B body 68-70.

Me either, doesn't mean it isn't legit, just mean I haven't seen it before.

Thanks guys, I suspected that it wasn't OEM, but thought it looked a little too purposeful to be a generic exhaust hanger.  :shruggy:

@tan top, you're right it was a single exhaust/ 318 car originally.  :yesnod:
