 :2thumbs:--Thanks for posting that.
It's amazing how creative scammers can be--and bold as well--
I see a need for greater penalties that would put them in financial ruin for this kind of theft.

This is another reminder that to be an optimistic and trusting sort is natural but when it comes to spending our money it could feed a scammers life style instead of our own.

Another thought about being scammed.

All too often the scammed are embarrassed that they have been had.  I say get over it.  Tell everyone you know you were ripped off. Step up and fight for what has been taken from you.

It can be an invigorating life adventure that will heal the wound.

I want to know what happens the next time the same dealership or employees get hauled in front of a judge again for continuing to do exactly the same thing.

How many rounds of this does it take before a Federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison is involved?

I was happy to read that the guy who the dealer stole the car from went to a lawyer & won.   :2thumbs:

When I was in high school there was an elective course offered called "Law & Sales" so I took it. The first half of the course was very basic law & contract agreements, & the second half was retail merchandising with writing resumes & job search tips. This was sometimes a very boring class but the teacher was cool & it was one of the most valuable courses for the real world that I ever took. It should have been mandatory for all students.

The simplest thing we learned about contracts is that once it's in writing & both parties sign, it's legally binding. Documentation is also important because verbal discussions turn out to be hearsay 99% of the time & useless. The dealer in this case was not only pure scum, but 100% wrong.

Good thing the guy in the article didn't go to a message board on a car forum for legal advice, we all see how that plays out.   :smilielol:

I believe this sort of business practice comes from way back and word of mouth was different way back.

We are talking about a case that not many years ago would be heard/read by few.

These days one can look up a reputation in a few seconds.
