OK so here's the situation. My car is "the" Blade TV series car. It's being used whenever Blade is driving around (It was also used in the movie). There is another 68 which was used in the Blade Trinity movie for a few shots that they have brought up in case they want to do any stunts. My understanding is that the car is a true R/T. I'm going out to look at it next week. I'll get VIN's  So basically they will use mine (originally a 318, now a VERY built 440 .30 over) for all the pretty stuff and slowly destroy the R/T doing stunts. I hate to see a 68 R/T destoyed and was thinking if they let me do a little switcheroo i'd switch my 318 body for the R/T body. I'm not sure if it would make my car worth any more and I'd have to look at the R/T body closely because mine is very straight but it might be one way to save a 68 R/T. You guys got any opinions??

Pistolpete

depends on how straight the RT is if you ask me, would they be up for footing some of the bill as a trade off?

I love being me......ask anybody!

The Ghoul

I'd say if the r/t had the matching drive train (numbers) its a no brainer.
but keep in mind.
your vin on your dash must match the vin on the fender tag or else its a re-body and illegual.
I dont think an r/t shell buy its self is worth the hassel
but I could be very wrong here.. you could very well be able to later find the drive train but I think your car (sence it is a special case) will be worth more exactly the way it appeared in the movie and tv series.

i think your car is worth more. what you shoul dtry and do is quickly locate a donor 318 car that they could use and trade them THAT for the R/T body, regardless of condition. R/T's need to be saved period if possible.. and given your location, i'm assuming thos one can be

Is that the one that came out the back of the trailer in B3? There's some major work there I would assume. I'd keep the body you have and maybe try buying the R/T. Store it and take a hard look at it before you decide. You could always sell it as the 'Blade stunt car' later.

No it isn't the car that was launched out of the back of the semi (twice) that car was a rust bucket and majorly broke after the second landing. Finding a donor 318 might be the ticket.

THE CHARGER PUNK

patrick are you talking about that one that went to L.A. for the premiere? i saw it in payless auto tow just after the movie car had the ''charger emblems on it and the hood was saggin but other then that it was in decent shape and we were gonna purchase it until the price went from $3500 to $30,000-MATT

I agree. That sounds like the best bet. The reason I say don't do what I think is a rebody is because it is illegal.

THE CHARGER PUNK

i dont think hes meaning a re-body hes not gonna take the tags off the r/t hes gonan swap his drivetrain and interior into the r/t and leave his car as justa shell so he would be driving the r/t with all the stuff ftom his car-MATT (whered the idea of a re-body come from any way?)

Problem solved, other than finding the car.

Pictures!   Pictures!   We wanna see pictures of the car!

If you own the car thats in the movie series keep it the way it is. Its a movie star and pretty collectible the way it is. If there going to use an RT for stunt double, sure, try an save it. But not at the expense of altering the original movie car.  :Twocents:
