I agree on the higher cost, but still a very desirable car to my personal opinion. And I'm not even a green fan. I d have a sweet spot for factory 4 speed cars.
I still think this is a nice restoration project. Perfect candidate for a 440 six-pack engine...

 awesome car to restore  , but the car needs a total bareshell rebuild  ,  seems crazy the selling price to me , & have mentioned this many times in the past , perhaps im just out of touch with  prices

If there was a 318 car in the same condition that someone swapped a 4 spd and 440 into 25 years ago for $10 K and then this one for $15 K
Will cost the same for all the resto parts
I think the extra $5K now is a good investment
In the end you will have a REAL CAR that would be worth more than the 318 car ever could be

I completely agree. Terrible timing for me to pick one up. Were it a '68 I'd have likely got involved.

Early in the bidding I could have pulled the trigger if I wanted to risk a divorce.  Wife really wants a vacation and the house really needs new windows before winter.  Ideally, I have to wait another two years.  So, yes, timing!

I think $15k or 16.5 k was cheap considering everbody seem to think this 69 below was worth $20k+

I much rather have that 70 RT/SE then that lame 69 in comparison. Also, by looking at the Trunk pic inside, I think the Trunk looks pretty solid from what I can see meaning rear frame rails probably nice, possible extensions also. New 1/4's & rear valance & you got a nice car. Someone stole it cheap in my opinion. LEON.

Yes the trunk was pretty solid.  The extensions were not.  The rear valance was just rot especially the left side. 
There was still a lot of interest With the car late Sunday even after the bidding was around 9k for a small NW WI town.
Definitely No one was checking out the tractors and sickles there. 

Carpet was wet but they must have used a carpet cleaner that morning to clean up the mess in the back seat floor.
