What parts are not reproduced and you wish they were?

Was thinking 2gen chargers have a lot of reproduction parts available but is there anything that is not being done and you wish they were?

Ghoste

I think we may have done this a long time ago, it'd be interesting to compare the two threads and see whats changed.  I used to wish for 1st gen interior panels but now I'd like to see higher quality in the repro stuff thats currently out there.  Some of it is great, but there are issues with some things like reproduction headlight switches for 2nd gens and trim fit.  Maybe some quality reproduction on the old Mopar ecu's.

cavemanno1

Didn't know it has already been done!

I just thought of the grill and only heared of Bobfit's done them!Is there anyone else reproduces them or the "I" piece of the '69 grillor the bumpers?I know the bumpers being done but all i hear is that they are far from as good as the oem stuff!

Ghoste

I'm not even sure about it, but it seems like it has.  Even so it was a long time ago if it was so a new one is warranted.  I only meant that it would be interesting to compare.

ODZKing

Grille(s) on a 73-74. SE or otherwise.  I can't believe no one makes these.

There is a lot of 3rd gen stuff that isn't done and that surprises me a little.  I know the 2nd gen is the big spotlight queen but they made a huge number of 3rd gens and there are a lot of young guns out there keeping them on the road.  (some old dogs too but you know what I mean)

Complete "replacement" bodies for the 68-70 Chargers, I'd really like to see the 70 model year specific sheetmetal on a Dynacorn type replacement body

polywideblock

3rd gen doors( r/t ,rallye  would be nice  ), fenders , hoods  just for a start.

the 71 -72 hidden headlights front  :yesnod:   I'd be happy to find the correct headlight door relay and circuit breaker repoped at an affordable price

that goes for everything no use repoping stuff and then charging more than the cost of NOS  :Twocents:

  and 71 GA4  383 magnum  SE

Is there a reason AMD don't make 3rd gen parts? Is it because they are not as popular than 2nd gen or other reasons!
Does anyone know what involves in making fenders, doors and such?Kinda interesting that only AMD is doing them and they have no competition!

2gen grills are being reproduced by anyone? Why is it so difficult that no ine is doing them? With modern technology they can't make something that was done 46 years ago?
Don't know anything about auto manufactoring but sheet metal is sheet metal and not heart surgery!

1970 Fenders, 1970 Grill... plenty of parts that aren't repops that should be to help out owners.

for me  personally heres a few

 69 charger grill

mopar performance new   426 hemi   full water  block ,  the one that use to look like a production block ! ( not a world block )
should of bought one years ago when Mopar performance  re issued these blocks  in the early 90s , but thought they would always be available  :icon_smile_blackeye:    who would of though aftermarket & mopar performance would have gone that way  ::) , the prices of these blocks , that are left now are starting to go nutts  :'(

all of the repop parts to be  as good or   better then the original ,   ie  , look  , fit , quality ,    the technology & manufacturing processes has come on leaps & bounds since these cars were  built ,   not want  to stir anything , I can think of  many repop parts that are poor . whats the point making some thing if its not right  :shruggy: . & we are  still asked to pay good money for them  :icon_smile_blackeye:

the 440 stealth cylinder heads  , cast in iron .

but in a ideal world , every part of every  mopar muscle car would be repoped , in as good if not better quality than some are today

'70 model year specific stuff.

Accurate reproductions of original parts, also replicating date codes, etc. More the better.

Grilles & grille parts. Any of them.

Can't believe anyone hasn't said 68-69 B Body rallye dash center A/C pads and Non A/C pads, a must  :fireangry:

JB400

Is the vacuum operated power antenna being reproduced? :popcrn:  The 69 grille arrow emblem would be appreciated.  Also, some aftermarket choices on parts would be appreciated.

how about everything to make a complete car ? Imagine buying a complete kit and spending a few months every night putting it all together and having a 100 % brand new car.

myk

I wonder if the Mustang and Camaro guys ever had a period where there was little to no parts replacement/support...

don duick

I read an article a few years ago where they said no repo parts were available for any car. Anybody that attempted a restoration had to improvise and the aftermarket companies took note.

70 Cuda grills have just as much shape as   Charger stuff and theres what 2 different manufactures for those? I don't see why the Charger grills are such a problem? I wonder how Bobfist made his run and if they were  any good?

i still see a mid sixties mustang coupe every now and then in junkyards, i'd imagine there would have always been a supply of those,  :shruggy:
