Hi, I have read on these forums for quite some time, and I would like to say that all of you seem very knowledgeable.
Anyway, I have been searching for my own Mopar, and have found a 1970 Plymouth Duster for sale for $1000, The car is pretty rusty, with the driver side front frame rail being rusted through. The rest of the car seems fairly solid, with a running slant six. I was wondering what exactly would be necessary to replace the frame rail?

Not worth even messing with, A bodies are cheap enough you can find them cheap they don't bring much either even built nice, This 72 Dart I re-painted purple installed a new interior, body was perfect not one rust hole (Arizona car) 318 car great running car. got $6,000 out of it and it went to Germany. I would say just find one that has a nice body and go from there (or better yet just buy a finished one)  :Twocents:

I would put the car on a jig to make sure everything stays true and inline after making sure the car is square, something that I would recommend having a body shop with a frame machine do.  You could probably get by with just sticking a repair cap on the frame rail, but if it's heavily rusted, it would be best just to replace it entirely.  You would want to drill out all the spot welds that hold it in place instead of using plasma cutters or cutting torches to remove it.
