Does anybody know what the original fusible link that goes from the bulkhead connector to the starter relay looks like on a Daytona? The ones I have seen all have a blue wire but some have a blue rubber fusible link while others have a yellow fusible link. Also any idea if the part number tag that comes on an NOS piece would have been on the one originally installed on the car?

The blue one with a tag is the correct one.

Tony,
The NOS engine wire harness that I purchased from you for the B5 Daytona has a medium blue wire
and a medium blue rubber link tab. The part number on the tag is 2926391 with vendor number 95329 C below.
I then went to the original harness on the R4 Daytona and same medium blue wire and blue link tab.
Unfortunately the original part number tag is no where to be found! I hope this helps!

I agree with Shawn & John, although at the moment I can't confirm the part number info from the decal.

Below is a photo from Jim McCauley's time capsule F5 "survivor" Daytona, where you can see the blue wire, blue tab and remnants of the original decal still in place:

Here's another, from the Tiffany F5 car which had 11,000 miles at the time this photo was taken.  Mostly the same details, but I did not take one from an angle which shows the full tab on the wire or if the decal was still present.

Another, from 356518, blue/blue but with no remnants of the decal - if it was ever present.

FWIW, the Dressler & Malcom R4 cars are all blue/blue, and don't appear to have a decal either.  So far (with a VERY small sample size), the only one which has any indication of a decal on the fusible link is the McCauley car.  IIRC, the original owner of Jim's car - Rex McCall - kept very meticulous records of all parts & work done to that car.  Jim might be able to verify if the fusible link was replaced over the years by Rex.

Dealer's choice on the decal, but definitely keep to the blue/blue pattern.  Blue/yellow is not the way to go.

Thank you Shawn, John and Gene. Quite a while back I bought an NOS one that has the part number tag on it with a yellow rubber tab. I always assumed it was correct. Then I ran across a photo of your car Gene and noticed it was blue. Interestingly the reproduction wiring harnesses usually have the yellow tab on the fusible link. Although I did see one for sale with a different shade of blue rubber tab. Luckily I just found an NOS fusible link with the correct blue wire and blue tab. Thanks again for the help guys.

Or you can use the yellow one and get Roger to overspray the snot out of that area......

That might be the easiest way Jim! I have decided though that while I need to have some overspray I'm going to give it a "best case scenario" with a minimul amount.

I had a Coronet once that a previous owner had repainted including underhood.  And I mean everything underhood, the wiring, the brake lines the bulkhead connector, all of it.  I wish I had pics.  In any case, I don't think I'd go the excess undercoating.
