Many earlier posts on the best BS for a 15x10 wheel/295 R50 15
tire is 4.5". I've been web surfing for a pair but nothing
except 5" BS is what's available. Bummer.  :shruggy:

As far as I know  5.5 back space is what you need with a 15x10" wheel with a  295 -50 -15 tire  ,  that back space places the wheel /tire as correctly as you can get with that combo ,  best measure your car , both sides to make sure , especially if the quarters have been replaced , the lip  arch of the quarter ,  is wider on repops & not every body guy trims them to match factory specs

5" should be fine on a 10" wide wheel.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Thanks TT and Dinoman. My car is all original but I do plan
on measuring each side.
5" BS is prolly what I'll go with and since I'm buying
new .96 torsion bars from Summit I'll get the wheels
from them @ $234.00 each.

I've looked at some tires too. BFG's are stoopid costly.
Cooper has some nice rubber at decent prices.
A set of 245 R60 15's & 295 R50 15's is $700.00

BFG's would be well over $1000.00. Any thoughts
on Cooper tires?

Damned if this isn't a pricey addiction.  :shruggy:

The only real positive comment I always see about BFG's is that they look good with RWL's.  That's not enough of a reason to buy it though unless it's for a trailered car.  Coopers are the same as Mickey Thompson.  They seem to stick better and they look real nice.  No contest for me!  Get Coopers.   :yesnod:

Cooper Cobra is the same tread pattern as Mickey Thompson ST and the Jetzone Revenger. All of these have blocks white letters. Mickey Thomson SR , a blackwall, is a unique animal and is an H speed rated tire with a fairly soft compound. Maxxis Marauder is also an H rated tire with a 360 treadwear rating, so its a somewhat harder compound tire than the MT SR. MTs are both available at Summit.

FWIW, I've used 5" backspace on a 10" wheel and fit a 275 on it within the fender lips. No sidewall abrasions or other interference.

I did a lot of research and came across a LOT of reviews that were very positive for the MT Spotsman ST's and these are what I am intending to go with when I get to it.  I dk if this helps you or if I'm just throwing my  :Twocents: into a black hole.   :shruggy:

I got new quarters and the 5"bs rub just nothing. I think the 5.5" bs with a shim would be better. Orig quarters you should be perfect. Tires- I got lucky and found GoodYear GT II's
