Any 68 chargers available for sale had one sold it now I regret it

sorry to say depending on your budget !!  ( BF89 )  is prolly right  ,
 the prices have gone nuts  ,  IMO you got to spend insane amounts of dough for a second generation  , which  basically needs a total restoration & by the time your finished ,   you only have 30% if you Lucky of the original car left &  a big pile of shrapnel ,  figuratively speaking , be ok if these cars could be bought for 2 - 5k  then  rip the car apart to restore it ,  you only got to look on ebay  15 to 20k for a second generations that are not far off from being a parts car 10 years ago !  & need the whole AMD repop sheet metal   catalog &  then chunks off another doner  body shell to fix it    nothing wrong with that of course , just not spending that kind of dough in the first place . IMO

Either way it'll be costly so my suggestion is to buy one finished
and done. Just get in and drive it whenever you want.

You're probably better to just buy one already done. I found my 68 on accident I was driving down a street saw it a guys front yard asked him is it for sale and bought it for 1800 this was in 2002 than my son was born and I almost had all the sheet metal work done. I had a 440,727 with a six pack ready to go sold it then saw it on ebay four years later and it sold for 6,500 now I could donkey kick myself in the face for getting rid of it. But thanks guys for the advice.

what, these cars are old, junky, and dont drive like modern cars how do car values go up in price thats stupid. 

Im gonna go find me a 2nd gen charger in pristine condition and it should be 500 bucks due to depreciations value.

IMO,
far beyond any normal "popularity" quotient in a normal supply vrs demand marketplace, for 45 yr old Gen II Cars that ride like a drunken elephants ?

So what else could be a factor, to the what I will call "disproportional" rise in prices ?
I believe Money chasing "value" of any kind, any asset, pushing down onto even lower models, than even the traditional "collectible" versions like the HEMI's and R/T Cars ?

HEMI's and R/T Cars were collectible even long ago, and commanded high prices for "badging" as assets.
But Nowadays,
seems people are willing to fork over even $10K to $15K for basically junk ?
Is the MONEY worth THAT much less ?
or,
has the hunk 'o junk reached THAT much Value ? and WHY ?
I would sure like to know ?

Case in point.... this one just went on Ebay for $20K   with 52 nutbar bidders ?

I'm sorry to tell you its so hard I've just been looking for 7/8 months or so very thoroughly and I still have not found mine for under 175 or so which is pretty crazy

But hey I look all the tine for chargers everywhere and I am not particularly looking for a 69 so if I find a good one I'll be sure to let you know by just keep looking at my thread for 69s and you might find one

It's not impossible.  It's just not as easy to get into it as it was 20 years ago.  But if you're serious about being completed by a 2nd gen then it can happen; just give it time and devotion...

Okay that was good.   

Honestly I wouldn't know what to do with another car, but seeing a super clean Model A with a rumble seat for a price far less than what we pay for our cars, it makes me want it anyway.  I'm a complete sucker for boat tail cars so it's a good thing those are out of my price range...for now.

If I wanted another car it would be best to let the Charger go, and although I don't care for it much right now I can't sell it because I know I only need some time to fall in love with this car all over again.

I would be as well.  I was just offered somewhat stupid money for mine.  Only $30K but that's quite a lot for a mutt R/T clone.  Still, it wouldn't get me what I have now so no deal.

I'm already thinking "what next" and I still have a few years of resto left before I can even drive it...but don't tell my wife     I seem to have this ever changing bucket list of cars that I say I want, but it always comes back to a 69 Charger being my dream car so I doubt I'll ever part with it. But it's difficult to justify adding cars to the garage without selling another.

Anyways, back to the OPs post...I find it difficult to believe there are no Chargers you'd want in Arizona or surrounding states...Since I live in Canada, I thought they were plentifull (relatively speaking)in the USA
