This Charger came across my news feed on facebook the other day.  Take a look at this enigma.  I do not know if the owner is a member here.

Here is the info he put on his post (I deleted his name and location):

Here are the infos about my 68' Charger R/T:
Name: Xxxxxx Xxxxxx
Location: XXX
Vin: XS29L8B218414
Color: black (not original)
Engine: 440 (upgraded to a SixPack)
I do not know the history of this car (side markers and taillights are from a 69 Charger)
I own this car since 1999.
My fist car in 1983 was also a 68' Charger 383. Color: red with white vinyl top.
I do not remember the Vin No. I sold the car in 1987.
Greetings from XXX

Never seen a 68 with that many 69/70 parts on it.  Hats off to this guy for combining the best features of all three years.  Would love to see the interior though - he's got some high back buckets but perhaps more goodies?

If I were to build and Uber Charger it would have:

68 Grille
69 Tail Panel (I love the 68, but the 69 just looks mean)
68 Fenders (with sweet round marker lights, love 'em)
68 dash with panels/dash pad
68 chrome console
70 door panels
68 seats with the late-run headrests and a six-way driver's seat
68 bumble bee stripes (looks best with 68 markers)

440 4spd with D60

Plum Crazy with white interior, or triple black.
[ŌŌ]ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ[ŌŌ] = 68
[ŌŌ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ŌŌ] = 69

Are there any Swiss members?  I don't think I've seen any cars or people from there.

Great looking beast.

  could buy that 69 stuff been put on , but why  has the vin tag been removed &  wrong rivits been used ,  if its been re boddied  , why  take a vin tag off the dash ? why not just use the  original  dash the vin is on , from the original car  :shruggy:
 it has  69 or 70 doors too ! by the looks of it

 :scope:   :think:

prolly just my over active  , suspicious imagination at work again  :slap: :image_294343: & there is a perfectally innocent explanation !   :yesnod:

How do 68 doors differ from 69-70?

How do 68 doors differ from 69-70?

 :2thumbs:  its the position of the  inner door lock button

   68 chargers ,  are right at the back edge of the door ,  while 69 & 70 s ,  are a quarter of the way along .

Son of a gun!  I have never noticed the difference in the doors / lock location.  Thanks Tantop!

That was myself that posted it. I was in the process of buying it when it was stolen. It was found a month after it was stolen. The guy that was going to sell it to me decided to keep it and disappeared into the sunset along with the car. I got a good idea of where it is stuffed now but its not visible from the road. It was a H code 383 1968 Charger. It was all 1968 stuff except for the tail light panel. That was a 1969 part.

I don't know that there is a "correct" one.  This is the one I like, andthe one referenced on this thread.  I like the map.
