How can I find my car from high school?

My first car was a 75 Camaro in high school.  Anyone know how I can find this car?  I do have the vin number, but dmv will not give out any personal info on owners.  Anyone have any ideas?

It was made into nissan power steering pump brackets. :icon_smile_sad:
