Well, it's been a long road for the old girl, but finally at a place that I enjoy it. :2thumbs:

Owned the car for almost 10 years, and it's been one thing after another -

-The car was a 20/20 car when I bought it, which I knew, but one day I was looking at one of the quarters and decided to check what was under the paint.  Found RUST.   According to the previous owner (dealer) it was was just painted.  With this said, wound up putting new quarters on it, and fresh paint.

-The car had many gremlins in it, but most of the issues was electrical.   Replaced all the wiring after the paint.

-My 68 Charger build came, so this car sat for 3 years.

-Would work on the old girl here and there, but it was a major rattle trap, the steering was terrible, breaks were bad, suspension shot.  With this said, never took it for longer than a 10 minute drive.

-Well, this year, it was the year of the Coronet.   So far did a new Moog suspension kit / Firm Feel box (ordered a 2, but think I got a 3 and I LOVE IT) / new Bilstein shocks / HD torsion bars / window felts / new booster, master, shoes / rattle searching and fixing.   Still have some detailing to do under the hood and replace some parts, but the car is a awesome to drive now! :boogie: :boogie:

I have my new personal plate coming "440 RAG" in a few weeks, and ready to enjoy.   Planning on bringing to show that's 200 miles away in a few weeks.   :2thumbs:

It is an original 68 Coronet RT Rag that is 1 of 528.

This is what was found under the new paint on the quarter -

Dents found on the fenders -

That is a beautiful 'vert muscle car.  You must be one of the most blessed members on this board, what with your Charger and your Coronet.  I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you to decide which car to drive!

Myk, I do feel lucky.  Right place and bought at the right time.

Many people ask "how did you do it".   Some people might not like the answer, but buying and selling.   The Charger and Coronet was funded well by buying and selling 70 - 72 Challengers.   :2thumbs:

Dan, funny.... my little guy on the right is the car nut.  My 10 year old on the left is starting to get some interest.  My 12 year old is like the wife and really not interested at all.   They all tolerate a ride in the Coronet because it's a convertible. :icon_smile_big:

Honestly, in the future I see just keeping the Bird.   Three cars means three headaches.  Tired of storage fees, insurance, and everything else that goes into multiple cars.

Too bad you missed out on the Dart.  Was it on Ebay?
