Based on NADAGUIDES.COM and assuming is A/C car, an average retail price for original 360 seems to be US$6000. being original 318 but with upgraded engine could be maybe close to that? dunno

so even we all know NADAGUIDES over estimate quite often the prices, I think your $800 is way off and all of you are REALLY UNDERESTIMATING the price.

Thinking on all the needs described and all the performance ads on... let's say, maybe on $4000-4500 rate could be fair ?

If you guys really think it worths $800, would be better sell it being parted out... don't you think ? and will get more than that.

Yea its not  69 charge get over it. Its also not a 09 charger.
Put a set of cragers on it and sell it for 3k.

So...updated my Charger photos. And yes, I am a "chick".Thanks for all the positive posts ...This is supposed to be a Charger forum for enthusiasts to unite and appreciate each other's cars, a club, so I ignored all the "stupid" posts.
I didn't feel the need to verbally joust and waste my time on insults.Supposedly "everyone" wants the older cars..there's thousands out there. No originality. No, it's not the "classic" Charger that so many of you like and buy-big deal; I didn't want the typical Charger like everyone else..I wanted different and unique, you can't get more unique than the 1976 Sport-they only made that model one year. It's a beautiful car, certainly not a demo or an $800 car.
That being said, here's updated photos...

That's an exceptionally good looking car, even if it's not a 2nd gen Charger, doesn't matter.  It does have some nice style and could even be built into a race monster or nasty sleeper or driven as is as a daily.  

I can see the lack of desirability though, however that shouldn't affect price, just the frequency of buyers.  If selling I'd hold out for longer than you would with a 90's junker and find the right buyer.

If I was in need of a car I would jump on something like that.  Just being a Dodge guy I'd rather drive that than a Civic or pretty much anything "modern."

That's a pretty nice looking car for someone, but the basic rule of thumb here is: If it didn't sell well "new" (it didn't)....its not going to sell well "used".

With that in mind, you probably didn't pay much to begin with.  Whether or not you make a loss or a profit depends on how well you bought the car (which by the way your invested dollars have no relationship to resale value).

The market for this Charger is low because its not a year/model people are interested in.  I'm sure you knew this going in based on what you said about this model being so unique and different.  

I'm sorry to be harsh about it,  but the reality is..... rare and desirable don't always go together.

Gonna disagree with you on this as a general statement. '71 Cudas didn't sell well either when brand new. They were lambasted in the press for their garish appearance. But now they fetch premium dollars. So this isn't always true.

On the other hand, nearly anything post '72 suffers by comparison from the enthusiast point of view even though sales figures on some of the later A bodies and F bodies were actually higher than most muscle era cars.

I do recall a year or two ago, a member on here was looking for a '75 Road Runner, which is the cousin to the 75-78 Chargers. I believe in his search, prices for a good solid model were ranging from 3000-5000. I do not know the subtleties of the difference in the market between Road Runners and Chargers of this era. However, if you want to sell for this range, then you will need to be patient and wait for the right buyer to show up. If you are trying to flip it fast, you are going to devalue what you can get for it and will end up at the lower end of the scale. Obviously a good clean up, wash/wax and detail job will get you at the higher end of the scale. Same with other details like the replacing the wheel center caps, any missing knobs, or other bits and pieces.

Its not a bad rule of thumb though.  The 71 Cuda is an anomoly and I think if you put together a list of cars that sold poorly when new, you'd find the vast majority aren't that popular after either.

There used to be a car like that in here in town.

Turd brown.

It was driven by the U-G-L-I-E-S-T chick around.

This chicks name, fit her appearance.

Her name was Viola.  

I'd be out cruisin' around in my Petty blue '72 SE  (Alum slots, N50's, side pipes, etc.)

And there this turd brown Viola mobile would be following me everywhere.

This Chick stalked me for months.

I would occasionally converse with her at the local hangouts,

But I always made it clear I wasn't interested.

She always made it clear that she WAS interested.

Insistent little thing.

Until one night.

I was drunk, and half stoned...

Here she comes...


Done with the whole cat and mouse thing...

I walked up to her and said:

Tonight's the night.

We're gonna do it.

You're finally going to get what you've been after.

Get in your car and follow me...


I got in my '72 SE and fired it up.

I hope you find a good home for your Charger, chargerchic. This forum is probably your best bet for finding the right person. Wandering around local car shows and checking with car clubs might help too.

Check online for prices for 1975 Coronet Sport....exactly the same car and probably more of them made.

I agree, really makes new members want to come back. Hate to think what these people really think of my 87 Shelby GLHS. I had a 76 Charger Daytona exactly like the one on the first page. It was a nice ride but no power. Those years of car have a small following but they are out there. I don't think you would have any trouble getting $2500 for it for the right buyer.

Last weekend was the first time Ive had it out of the barn in over 2 years now. Just no time for it. Plus its proving impossible/expensive to find most of the bits and pieces I need for it.
