Very nice looking car. I really like the red on it too. Is it going to stay red as a bee?

Probably not...I'm not a big fan of red.  Maybe blue or turqoise ???   That won't come untill quite a ways down the road, so there is plenty of time to decide that.

We picked up the car last night, and it ran pretty well and handled great :icon_smile_big:  Turns out, we are technically the second owners.  The car belonged to the Mother-in-law of the guy we bought it from, and she had gotten it from her mother.  It has been in their family for three generations.  He just didn't feel like doing the upkeep on it.  So basically, it really was a "little old lady" car, having been bought by his wife's grandmother brand new.

My Dad is thrilled to have it, and it was a great surprise for him.  It's really a cool car...I'm anxious to get going on it.

Hi volk68,would you go with a stock color or from another year?

Are you going to put the 383 in it still?I don't think it matters what you do as clones are becoming popular, and also you don't have to worry about driving around a high dollar original, and you can have just as much fun with a clone.Alot of people I know, after this years BJ auction are telling me to drop a hemi in mine, make a coronet 440 hemi clone (which they made 2,one is Galens)and blow it out.I don't have the heart,if I were to sell it I probably sell it the way it is.Hoping someone would like it for what it is.I have had alot of fun with it,amongst bringing it to mopar events and in 68-70 Dodge B-Body stock it's won 4 - 3rd places,2 - 2nds,and 1 - 1st.

I think if we go the blue/turqoise, it will probably be a factory color...if not, there's no guarantee we will go stock.  As to the Super Bee conversion, it is really up to my Dad.  I think he really likes the idea of getting the Super Bee badging (which I also really like), but it is cool as the 440.  I know that he wants to put at least a 383 in it, so at least it would be accurately optioned as a Super Bee.

I don't really worry about the value of the cars so much...as long as I can flip them for what I have in them in materials, I consider them a good deal.  I figure this car completely done nice is going to need about $2k worth of cost, bringing the total to about $5k.  As long as I could ever get at least $5k out of it, I would be happy.  I don't count my labor on these things...that would just make me depressed  :rotz:  To me, the value is in owning and building them.  Maybe it will matter more down the road, but the market for these things continues to get rarer, and demand is still good, so I don't worry too much about it.

Right, I think the only ones that count the labor in a price of a car are people that do it as a buisness.

Professional flippers.

Nice ride, your pops should love it with the 383.
