Hey all,
I am having my 440 rebuilt.  The previous owner had put 78 heads on the 69 block. The 78 blocks/heads have a "siamese" or an "8-shaped" coolant passag,e while the 69 blocks/heads had round passages.
What head gasket should I use?  Is there a 440 rule-of-thumb on this?
The current head gasket on the engine now is of no help because is does match either style passage..it has tiny slots that look pretty darn restrictive.
Any help would be appriciated.
This issue hloding up my rebuild because i told the builder I wanted to check out the best option first.
Thank you

This question comes up often  :yesnod:

The gasket is supposed to have small slits on the water passages to restrict/limit waterflow so don't worry  ;)
