If you know the old CH4B intake, it has an 1/8th inch hole in the bottom of the heat crossover. What the heck for? (Why?)  :shruggy:

Who knows.  I did just buy one however, and mine has a plug there.  As a matter of fact, looking at other pictures of this intake some have the hole, some do not, most of them are plugged...

it's for the older style choke thermostats that were not electric...they had a small tube from that hole to the choke coil housing that drew hot air to open up the choke butterfly on the carb...if you are running manual or electric choke on your carb, just plug the hole if ya want....look under the intake and you will find the other end of that hole for heated air to go through

Hey thanks!  :2thumbs:  I was hoping it didn't need being plugged. (?)  :scratchchin:

You'll have to plug it if you're using that sort of a choke...

no, it doesn't.....no exhaust is going to come up through there....

Correct.  The channel above it is for the heat crossover, there is nothing in there but hot air.

Are we talking about these holes?  They are connected internally and isolated from the exhaust in the crossover?

That's the bugger! I'll hook up my air hose to it this weekend to double check.  :2thumbs:
