For a '69, I like it.

It's pretty, it'll be an auction to watch.

They lost me with the red interior.

The red & white combo makes me think of the 1963-65 B-bodies.  It seems right on those cars but not so much on the later stuff.

Ghoste

Really?  I kind of like it, nearly bought one similar to it many years ago but could never get a straight answer from the seller and ultimately gave up.

TUFCAT

That's a beautiful color combo....it totally works for me!  :drool5:   The only thing I don't like is the 50K starting bid to put it in my garage.  :-\

odcics2

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

chaos52

:drool5: Next to triple black, red on white is probably my favorite. Gorgeous car.

The red interior is a little funky though. I'd consider doing it white.

myk

My car was originally white with a red interior.  Is it really that rare of a combination?

My old 68 318 Charger was red interior, and it was absolutely original, just so nice,  though it had started to crack on dash I was able to moisturise it and the seats with baby oil and it just shone and had so much depth and appeal in it. Even the pleats were good.
The original seats have a fantastic grain and finish that the repop stuff just cant replicate in my current car or other ones I've seen.

I'd put a red interior in my current black car if the spend didn't matter...

I'm restoring my 69 to white with red stripe and red interior, sorry guys....

I love the red interior in these cars but I did'nt want black exterior because almost everyone paints them black so it seems.
Only other color that really goes well with the red interior imo is white (then silver).
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Agreed. Seeing that the car was "meticulously restored by a true Mopar lover", the quarter stripes are on the wrong sides, the rear bumper guard bolts are not on, there's something hiding behind the grille on the driver's side, the power brake booster is wrong & a whole lot of detailing is needed under the hood. Makes you wonder what one will find in person, but, it still does look like a very nice car.

Love the color combo as well.  The rear member behind the valence appears damaged and the passenger side gas tank strap is twisted a bit.  I question rear end damage.

My car was originally white with a red interior.  Is it really that rare of a combination?

Its pretty damned uncommon I can tell you that.  I did a quick check in the database yesterday and of 27 white RT's, only 3 have red stripe and guts.  I didn't tally the XP cars but the numbers there approximate the RT.

tcs69rt

Somebody here has that color combo....I know because I stole pics of it for my Charger pic folder.  :2thumbs:

Wow really?  For a split second there I actually thought about bringing my car back to white with a red interior....but keeping my giant bling bling spinner wheels, of course...

You really should put them back on the Roman chariots they came from.

I dunno man.  Watching Ben Hur as a kid, I longed to have a flesh shredding, heathen-grinding chariot of my own someday, and now here I am!

An all time classic.

So, if it isn't too much trouble, could you tell me approximately how many 'XP cars had this color combination?

Ghoste

It ran about the same as the RT cars but I'll get a better total for you later.

Mytur Binsdirti

I talked with the seller a little while ago. He said that he bought it from someone at Carlisle about 6 years ago. Anyone remember it?

Ghoste

Myk, I did a count for you and there are 8 white XP Chargers in the Registry with red interior.  This is about the same number as the RT's but I broke them down further of course because of the red stripe.  Red is by far the least common color registered for interiors with the next uncommon color having 2.5 times more cars registered than red.

Quarter stripes are on the wrong sides? Can you explain? I'm not seeing it.  :shruggy:

This picture shows it best...

Oh, because the R/T is crooked? It doesn't line up with the body line.

I'm putting the stripe on my car this weekend, so I don't want to make the same mistake.

Plus, look mhow it goes across the top of the quarter panels. When it's put on wrong sides, the stripe angles backwards.

Wow thanks for the sleuthing.  Whoever owned my car back in the day must have really loved the DOH; not that these cars were worth anything before 20 years ago...

I don't know that I'd change a car to it but for sure if I bought one in that color combo I would leave it that way.  Don't think I'd get tired of it.

I like my car the way it sits, but....I wish I could have known my car from before with that color combination.

I had pictures of the Charger from one of  the previous owners when it was still white and red with dish-looking hubcaps; I hope I can find them and post them up...
