factory red colors - pic request

my car left the factory as a red car, I don't have the build sheet in front of me but I can see under the hood the original red coming thru

This to me appears to be a darker red (similar to a fire truck) and not so much of a orange - ish red

looking at factory colors I think its a r4 red, but im not 100% sure (without the buildsheet infront of me)

does anybody have a r4 red charger and a r6 red charger that they can post pics..?

I know this may sound stupid, but when I got to repaint the car, id like to do it with the factory color......unless I don't like it.

I think r6 is going to be pretty dark, getting towards the maroonish color....that's not it...but I cant tell until I see it on a car

when I google search it I get both colors

I looked in my orginal sales brochure and it list a color called bright red....when I search that on google I come up with a color that seems lighter that whats popping thru under the hood, but that might be dirty and greasy too

your last link you posted it looks like my car would be r6....when I googled it, it looked way darker than that

but when I click on the 2nd link you posted, bright red looks closer yet.....very interesting!

R6

I got home last night and looked at the fender tag....R6 Red is what my car was and is suppose to be.....I must say im thankful, r4 red seemed a little orange to me

Thank goodness and thanks for the pics!

Late to the thread but, better late than never I suppose! :2thumbs:   My Charger is R6 red and painted with single-stage enamel as was done by the factory!  It is definitely not as dark as the "swatch" looks on the color chart and is more of a pure red than R4.

It is extremely difficult to capture the true color (especially red) with a camera.  Depending on light conditions it can look all shade of different.
My 67 is PP1 and I liked the color so much I painted my 73 PP1 insted of the 73 red. It is a deeper red than the E5 which is more orangy.
Anyway, here are 2 pics as much in the shade as I could get only seconds apart. Again, both are identical in color.
