Getting serious about my Charger again. Had it on hold for 5 years. Have new motivation.  Have become reacquainted with master fabricator of WWII war birds. He has the equipment that I don't have, to fab my parts in steel. Plus have a second Daytona to build for a friend. Its easier to build 2 parts at 1 time. Then to build 1 part, 2 different times. Will post update and pictures soon

Include some pics and history of the WWII war birds, too, along with progress on your project.

Hi Johnny.

Always like a Daytona Clone build!
Is it better to start with 70 Car?
I think DonC1 has Peter-J's molds from LA.
I believe he will be making steel parts too.
I missed out on a cheapo 69 car a few months back so still looking.

Best of luck with the build, 500Jon

Looking for some pictures of original window plug. Inside view with out head liner installed.  Trying to find out how much bracing is around window . Making one out of steel. My fg plug  offers no clues about under side.  Is the deck lid trough a separate stamping ?   Thanks

I found some here . My first search of this site came up with little help. But the second  search hit pay dirt. I found what I was looking for.

Hi Johnny,

I took a plug outta a Daytona a while back.
It sat on two strips of 1/2 inch angle along both sides.
The brace that sits on the deck filler is quite complex.
It spports the lower window frame and holds the package tray.
It also has a curved support brace just near the trunk gulley too.
I will try and take some pictures of my 500 one for you fella.

Best wishes Jon

Thanks  I can never have too many pictures. I have some pictures I got of one that was at media blaster when I took my Charger to be blasted.  I took 2 rolls of my car and had only 5 shots left when I saw the Daytona.  Not enough. but it did not have the lip on the edges. If you have not found a rear plug for your car let me know.  Here shortly I should have the dies made to press them from steel ready. Maybe in a month . Thanks John
